28 weeks

yes, I missed week 26. It was not a fun weekend due to the hubs having kidney stones...and I have a hard enough time getting him to snap my photo as it is.

I'm getting so frustrated with these photos. I wish the shoot lasted longer than 1.5 seconds.

a wish list.

Lets take a minute and drool over these pricey boy items, shall we?

Baby boy Toms. Need these.Photobucket

Oh my goodness, they sell baby Jack Purcells! I love these shoes! (I do not believe these are the baby ones, but this is what nordstrom.com said)
(please don't tell me babies don't need or use shoes. I am going crazy over all the cute shoes!!)

Photobucket

These adorable tie onesies. My awesome sister-in-law made me one for Christmas, and since then I have copied her and made him a couple more. I used Chris' old shirts for the tie part. I love them so so much!

Photobucket

This diaper bag. I have been eyeing it for months...it seems just perfect for a little boy's mama.

I love all these crochet hats! I am trying to learn to crochet, but it probably wont happen before this little guy arrives. AND that owl hat, I adore it!
(thanks google images for the photos, I don't know whose pictures these are)

Oh little Sophie giraffe. Why are you $20? You sure are cute, and expensive.

I am so excited for this boy to be here! I am 7 months along...I can't believe it!

Its official.

I'm showing. Getting big. In my 3rd trimester! EEK! 3 more months, can you believe it?!

Strangers love talking to a pregnant girl. They also love making little comments.

Heres what I've heard lately:

"When are you due." (like I have to tell them, not even asked like a question)

at the store in an aisle where a 2 year old is throwing a fit: mom to daughter "You need to calm down, or this lady wont want to have that baby of hers." (all I can think is, my child will never act that way. Laugh at me, I know, I know)

"Can I touch your belly, my hands are clean!" (as her hand reaches for me) OH MY GOODNESS. And I say "Yes."!??!?! Mainly because: 1) I cannot say no to anyone or anything 2) I never want to seem rude and 3) I guess I would rather you touch it now when its nice and hard, than when I am sporting my usual un-toned stomach.

"You are going to have your hands full soon" Yes, and I can't wait!

"This must be your first. You're small" According to the scale, not really, but I do feel great.

"What are you having? What is his name?" Oh, he doesn't have one. "Oh, you must be waiting to see him and then you'll just KNOW what to name him!" Actually, I am dying to name him. I don't feel like I need to see him to name him. I feel like I need to agree with my husband on an name, ha!

Only a couple more months of this, and I am sure I will miss it...but then again I will have a lil baby boy in my arms instead. I can't wait!

September 14, 2010

I have been wanting to share these photos for a while now. This is the day I found out I was pregnant. I will never ever forget it. It seems like it was just yesterday!

I am not sure why I never posted them, but now seems like the perfect time since we just recently lost the lady who knew I was pregnant before I did.

I found out I was expecting at work, and this is a test from there (which is why they are a little different). My favorite nurse, Nancy, administered the test for me ( I had taken 2 tests the previous week that were both negative).
Sure enough, this is what we saw:

After much shock and and a call to my husband, I took this picture. I was so nervous and sweaty I had to take my over shirt off (I don't usually wear a tank top to work :).

Nancy unexpectedly passed away this past week. It was shocking, horrible, and tragic to say the least. She was an amazing woman who spoke her mind and cared about everyone. She was so happy for me this day, and every day since. She was the one person at work I asked all my pregnancy questions to. She was so fun, funny and upbeat. I will miss her so so dearly. I wish she was still here to meet my son, but more than that, I just wish she was still here.
I love you mama Riggs.

Frys trip on my lunch break.

Photobucket

I ran here on my break a couple weeks ago. This is what I picked up:
2-24ct 150mg Zantac
3 Hontest Tea bottles
Some random candy on clearance :)
Total before sale/coupons: $22.60
Total out of pocket after 5 coupons: $4.10

I totally stocked up on Zantac since there was a $5.00 off coupon on the internet and it was on sale a lot of places for $6.00. Heartburn has been so crazy with this baby! I'm very thankful for Zantac :)

its been a rough one.

Thank goodness we celebrated Valentines Day early....because Friday at 1am my husband woke up with pain from one of these:

Yep. Kidney stones. He has never had one, so we weren't sure that's what it was. Around 2am, after much vomit and excruciating pain, we decided to go to the ER. The nearest hospital was PACKED. It was insanity. We were there for about 20 minutes and not one person said a word to us. So we left and went to a small emergency hospital. We got right in thankfully.
It was so hard to see my husband in so much pain. I felt so helpless, not to mention exhausted and hormonal. I just kept crying, and Chris kept moaning and pacing around for relief. I bet we looked like a bunch of loons.
Well, 4 hours, morphine and many tests later we finally got home and got to bed! He is on the mend but has yet to pass anything.
All I know is I never want my husband to feel like that again. It was heartbreaking. Is the worst yet to come? the passing part? We aren't sure, but this waiting game is awful! (for him, of course :)

Butter it UP

The one thing I am paranoid about is stretch marks. I know, I know. You will tell me it won't matter, they are genetic, you can't prevent them, blah blah blah.....
But I would rather get them knowing I did everything I could to prevent them, rather than doing nothing and thinking "what if" down the road.
Lately my belly has been so itchy. I am thankful for this little reminder to lather up my belly :)

Here is my belly, today, at 25 weeks 4 days. I love it right now! Look now this may be the last bare belly shot! ha!

Photobucket

Here are the things I have been using on my belly. I love all these products so much. I have even put some on the back of the toilet so every time I use the potty I later up. Excessive, I know....especially with the bladder of a prego.

Tree Hut Shea Butter. I have 2 tubs at home and 2 at work. Yes, I apply at work. I bring it with me to the bathroom. People think I'm nuts, and now you do too.
I bought mine at Costco in a 4 pack. I love every scent and its nice and thick.

Photobucket

Dermalogica UltraRich Body Cream. I got this from the last salon I worked at. Its a huge container of lotion. The scent I am not crazy about right now, and it does nothing for the itch, but it feels great going on and makes my skin feel even better.
Photobucket

Bio Oil. Again, don't like the smell. Its kinda yuck. Although I love how hydrating it feels and it lasts a very long time! And yes, I bought into the gimmick that it prevents stretch marks. Hey, I will try anything.

Photobucket

Mineral Fusion body lotion in Sunstone. Oh my, this smells so so so good. I love it. It is also full of topical vitamins and all natural. You can find this little gem at Whole Foods.
Photobucket

Maybe post baby I will let you know if anything works? I really hope something does. But if not, its all good :) I get a baby!

Coupons.

Another resolution I set: clip coupons. Again.
I am not really sure why I stopped. I didn't really know what I was doing (still don't) and it seemed to be more work than reward.
WELL. I am at it again and enjoying it much more now that I have a few tools. I really love the blog:
www.stretchingabuckblog.com
She links up coupons with Krogers current ad, and I always shop at Frys so it makes it super easy. I usually go once every other week, but now I go weekly to get the 'deals'. Now I shop more often for less food, but it pays off.

Here was this weeks shopping trip:

Photobucket

I don't only buy what I have coupons for, but I do only buy whats on sale. You can't really see all I got but basically: cereal, some produce, milk, juice, chips, sausage, canned tomatoes, canned veggies, meat, granola bars, toiletries, pudding, ice cream (thin mint ice cream? who knew? amazing!), steam veggies and much more...
The FREE items this week that I got were: Honest Tea x3, Colgate toothpaste, Dove deordorant, Horizon chocolate milk x2.

Photobucket

The total came to be over $90. It came down to $37 after my VIP card and coupons. Sometimes I wonder if the coupons make a big difference, or if its just having a membership card that does. I am still new, so if this doesn't seem like that great of savings..don't tell me, I will keep getting better :)

One resolution down!

walk.dogs.more.
They are so good. I think if I just walked them without leashes they would stay by my side. That is, until they hear another dog bark. Then they run.
Photobucket

Of course I want this to be a daily thing. I need exercise, they need exercise, its a win-win right??

This time I went on a different route in the neighborhood. I found this:

An huge park, with a mile track, 2 baseball diamonds, and a soccer field! I had no idea! We need to get out more!
