surprise trip!

While I was at work on Saturday, I get a message from my husband asking if we had plans for the next couple days. I did. He asked if I could cancel....man it started really stressing me out! I have always thought I was spontaneous, but when he told me to drop everything for a fun weekend I literally was sick to my stomach. I like to be prepared for vacation, like clean the house, bathe the dogs before leaving them with anyone, pack appropriate clothes, do laundry, etc etc! I guess I am the planner in the relationship:)

So that night I wasn't told where we were going or what we were doing. My stress was very high but it was good for me. So we drove to CA to spend one day at the beach and another at Magic Mountain, which I guessed since it is Chris' favorite place to go :)

Movie trailers must be my thing. 

New Moon is coming out soon, my favorite of the Twilight series. Not many people liked New Moon, but I thought it was so real and Bellas feelings of heartache and depression were so relatable. And I prefer Jacob :) I am totally not a crazy fan, like I see grown women with bumper stickers and t-shirts, and I think those were books for high schoolers. But duh I read them so who am I.

and p.s. I thought the first movie was totally lame, but of course I will go see this one.

I love taking pictures. Its a true passion of mine. Although I am not someone who always carries a camera and snaps photos of every detail in life, I am someone who sees life in pictures. I am constantly looking at life like I am looking through my viewfinder..."that would be a great photo", "I can't wait to take pictures there", "what an amazing photo spot"

Lately what I have found is that my favorite part of this whole photography side gig is the editing. I love to edit and play around with different actions that I have found or bought on the internet. When I edit photos for clients, the 3 I usually choose to do are these:

Deer

My sister invited me to go see the deer with her kids yesterday at Schnepf Farms. I didn't really understand what that meant either...
They had a big pen set up for people to feed and visit the deer for one hour yesterday. Why they have deer I don't know! The kiddos loved it though.

Huntington Beach!

So this past weekend I went on a very spontaneous trip! This is not like me at all!

I went to Huntington Beach, CA with a great friend of mine, Kari. We have been friend since 11th grade Chemistry, and we now work together! Its been a blast hanging out a lot again.

She is in pursuit of moving to the LA area and had a job interview this past week so I went with her since I was already off work. I really wanted to go since we were both thinking she was moving out there in 2 weeks because the job was so promising. Well it turns out she is going to be staying in AZ for much longer than we thought since the job didn't work out...I am secretly very glad!

We stayed at her Aunts home in Huntington. She is right across the street from the beach! Every morning we got up early and enjoyed our morning coffee on the beach. Then in the afternoons we would ride beach cruisers into town and shop and eat. I really had a great time, but missed Chris the whole time too :)
