You can see my belly better in the above photo. I don't know why I always look at these pictures and think, "am I really that big??" I seriously feel much smaller than this, but again, full belly and growing baby! I guess its better than feeling huge and miserable!

No doubt!

Its a boy! thanks for sharing son! You sure weren't shy at all!

He says "hi!"

Yesterday we had our ultrasound and right when she put the wand on my belly and switched to 4d, I could see it was a boy. Chris says he knew when he saw his face because "its a boys face". It was so cool to see him. We both had boy feeling this whole time, so I was not shocked that it was a boy. I am so excited to have a son! A little nervous at the same time but I hope thats normal. The tech said he was moving all over the place. She kept saying, "oh, he moved AGAIN" and "wow he is busy!" (in a really sweet way). I found out the spot I always feel him are where his feet are. Kicks already! They are so strong now Chris can feel them every time I can, even if his hand isn't directly on the 'spot'.

This is a great present for us! Merry Christmas to all of you!

This weeks Happenings

Oh, hello, please enjoy these photos from my phone since I was camera less this weekend. I no longer am, YAHOO!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday we drove to Palm Springs with our friends Joe and Stacey and their 2 kiddos. Her parents live there, so we get to stay with them and enjoy good company. We mainly wanted to go shopping at the outlets but its always nice to just get away anywhere! Honestly, I really enjoyed laying around watching Bravo TV. I miss cable!
It was so cold and rainy the whole time. We planned on going on the tram Sunday morning, but it was so foggy and overcast you couldn't even see the mountains!

Here we are shopping. Yes my husband is pushing a stroller. Natural :)

We had a nice dinner at this nice Wangs place.

Chris loves holding baby Olivia. She is super sweet!

Last night we had dinner and Christmas at my father in laws. He let us pick citrus off his trees. This morning I went to eat a grapefruit, but was sort of worried because they were hard. Well, I cut into it and found this goregeousness:

Photobucket Seriously, I didnt know they were PINK grapefruits! They are amazing! A pregnant ladies dream! Thanks Dad!
The other night we got to meet our precious new nephew, Ryan. He was a few weeks early but doing well. That was my favorite part of this whole week!

17 weeks

This is going to be kinda old. Tomorrow I am 18 weeks!
And this is the last photo I took with my ole Sony! I will be upgrading here soon, I am so excited. I thought I would be sad to see it go, but I have come to the conclusion that I do not get attached (AT ALL) to "things". I must not be too sentimental!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I still feel small. I know in this photo you can see a small bump, but it varies so much throughout the day that its hard to tell whats prego belly and whats food belly. I think I have gained about 4 pounds so far. The first trimester I was so hungry and ate like crazy, but still lost weight. From what I remember weighing pre-pregnancy I think I am only up 2 pounds. Most days I feel like I look the same (in all areas, belly and bust which is so disappointing HA), and a lot of it depends on the clothes I wear. I am looking forward to the first time a stranger asks if I am expecting!

Lazy Bones

Photobucket

besides the 1,000 photo shoots I feel like I did the past month, I haven't been up to much. I wake up about 15-20 minutes before having to leave for work (hey, I need to sleep and wash my hair at night), work til about 3, come home, lay around (nap), maybe cook dinner, edit, watch TV with Chris, sleep. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
The above photo is me in my glory spot. This weekend we set up our air mattress in our living room for movie night (we have done this a couple times now), and haven't taken it down, mainly because its heaven! I have come home every day this week, turned on the tube and crashed. And most nights I haven fallen asleep here (while Chris plays video games next to me). Honestly, it wont come down unless someone comes over. You should try it if you have hard leather couches like us!
Ok, back to bed....

15 weeks

please forgive the following photo. This was taken on a tripod, self timer, and manual focus. I had nothing to focus on prior to jumping in the frame, so it was a guess. I will stick to using Chris from here on out :)

Food and Cravings.

Disclaimer: sorry if its annoying that I will be posting about 'pregnancy' stuff often. Its just, happening.

I feel like I am a eating machine lately. I have been so hungry, ravenous even, and for specific foods.
I took a few photos. Heres what I have been eating:

Photobucket

A Cinnabon from the mall. Oooey Gooey goodness.

Photobucket

Crappy chinese food. I had huge craving for hole-in-the-wall chinese, but since Chris only likes Panda Express I settled for that. It did not do the trick. The next day I got this for lunch, and to be honest I dont think I will be craving it again. Not very good.

Photobucket

Ranch Dressing. On anything. I figure a salad may be healthiest.

Photobucket

Beef + ooey melty cheese= cheeseburger. I wanted Red Robin fries since they are fat and kinda mushy. I love soggy fries with a lot of ketchup. I do not usually care for really crisp fries. Weird, I know.

Photobucket

Taco Bell!!!!!!!!!!! Oh any day I could eat there. I love the ground beef and sour cream.

Photobucket

Here is something I actually made at home. I love meatballs. We usually buy a bag of frozen ones from Sam's, then make them all different ways. This is "meatball strognanoff". Super easy: egg noodles and meatballs. The sauce is a packet of brown gravy made with milk, then a couple tablespoons of sour cream.

Judging me yet??

Tara's Shower!

Journaling

I wanted to journal this pregnancy. I also wanted it to be something I could put in a memory book along with photos.
I came up with this idea, to do a 'digital journal' that I could eventually print off and put side-by-side to my progression belly pics in a scrapbook or photo album. I am not showing yet, so I haven't taken any, but for now enjoy these entries from the first trimester!

I wish I had done more entries, but not much is going on yet!
I hope to do a belly photo at least every 2 weeks and that will help me to remember to journal.

privacy & pregnancy

Thanks to everyone for supporting me as I made the switch to "private". Not really something I was thrilled to do, but it was important to my husband so thanks for supporting me as I support him.
I am kinda sad that my 'followers' wont increase and I will never have the potential of being a big, famous blogger who makes big bucks for blogging, but oh well. Life is changing and we have to keep a few things for 'certain eyes only'. I can't wait to share the journey of this pregnancy and motherhood with all of you!
Chris and I are so excited to be having a baby! This is something I have of course wanted for a very long time, and even though it was not necessarily 'planned', it is such an exciting thing. We are so thrilled.
I am 12 1/2 weeks pregnant. I found out at 4 weeks, when I thought I was really 7. I thought that would make this whole process feel extremely slow, but this first trimester has flown by. I probably can thank that to having virtually no sickness. I haven't been miserable at all. I have been a little tired, some dizziness, extreme hunger, and very mild nausea. As long as I eat, I feel great! An empty stomach has not been my friend, but still, no throwing up at all (minus the time I took vitamins on an empty tummy, drank a spicy hot V8 too fast, and cleaned up a horrible mess of dog doo. but 3 times in 3 months? I'll take it!).
I did get the flu shot this past Monday and that evening and entire next day was terrible. I did actually throw up the next morning, as was accompanied by a horrible headache and body aches, so I did contribute that to the vaccine and not pregnancy.
I am so thankful for a great 12 weeks so far. I feel so blessed!

I want to go home.

Home is Sacramento. I miss it right now. I guess I usually miss it this time of year. Fall means change of season, something that Arizona does not usually experience. Thankfully its been cool, but I miss seeing leaves change color and fall to the ground.

Photobucket
Fall also means upcoming holidays. I love the holidays, but in a way they make me sad. I wish I was closer to my extended family. I wish my family here had more traditions, sometimes I feel like we just 'get through' the holidays, instead of experiencing them. Even Halloween is a time to make memories. I dont care if people think its from Satan, make it positive for your family. I wish we went to a pumpkin patch and then carved the pumpkins and roasted their seeds. I wish we got together on Halloween to see the kids dressed up and sat in the driveway eating chili and drinking hot chocolate while passing out candy to trick or treaters.
When we went to San Diego for Chris' Aunt Adriennes funeral we saw lots of photos of her dressed up for Halloween and hosting Halloween parties at her house for the kids in the family. I really wish we could start some memories like that.
I know, I know I could start them myself, and I probably will, its just I wish the traditions didn't include just my husband and I, I wish it was something the whole family got involved in. I dont know if its just me, but I would much rather spend holidays with my whole family, not just my husband.
Ok enough about that.
I also miss the food in Sacramento. Lately I have been craving 2 things, and they are only found there.

Jimboys Tacos. They have my favorite tacos of all time. Just the plain, original ground beef kind. Its ground beef, ooey gooey cheese, lettuce, and a fried corn tortilla thats dipped in parmesean cheese. Its AMAZING. I need one.

Togos hot pastrami sandwich (#9). I love hot pastrami. I do not love reubens, however. Togos has the perfect pastrami because it is just meat, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoccinis. Its amazing. They used to have one here in town, but it closed :( That made me very sad. I am craving this sandwich, terribly.

I also miss my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. I want to go back so bad.
