more crafts

Here are a couple things I have done. We had a small shower for my sister last night, here are the invitations I made for it: Then the nursery decorations I made for my sister. Those letters I have shown once before, hung on the wall.
And some canvases I decorated with the same paper and paint as the letters.
Just a couple weeks left until my niece Emerson arrives!

sad books.

I don't know whats up with me and loving sad books. Ones that just make you bawl at the end!!!
Here are two books I just read recently:

This book was so good I would highly recommend it. I usually read Christian Fiction but I have been reading everything these days. Well, mainly whatever I can borrow from other people :) My Sisters Keeper will be coming out as a movie next year, so read it now and see the movie! I love doing that. Prepare to cry though. Its so sad...
I finished this book last night. I couldn't put it down! Chris wanted to go to bed and I wanted to read so I got out the flashlight to read like a little kid would do. I am glad he wasn't awake to see me boo-hooing when I finished. This is a really sad story, clean for the most part just has some abuse. Read this book! Its so touching.

If you need a good cry....read these!

things that bless my heart...

This weekend we helped little Aidan celebrate his first birthday. He is just the sweetest boy. Today I was over at his house and he was thoroughly enjoying the little ATV rider thing we got him. He is so much fun, I just can't wait to have kids of my own. It is such a big desire in my heart to be a mother, sometimes so big I feel engulfed by it. When we first married everyone kept telling me that the baby bug would go away in a couple months, but it hasn't. Other people tell me they get the baby bug but it goes away after a day or so, but I have had it for about 15 months straight since the wedding. Oh patience, please be my best friend.

Anyway, what I am getting at it is this little man blesses my heart. My entire family does. I am excited to one day start my own....but for now I love running around with the nephew, and seeing him interact with his Uncles. They are funny boys!

So funny that they even decided to play a trick on me. Chris threw a football at my head, Craig took a picture, and Aidan thought it was hilarious.

Guitar Picks

Chris has really been playing his guitar lately. He loves it, I can really see the passion he has for worship and music in him. It encourages me. He also needs to be practicing it, since he is going to be leading worship for a church plant here in QC that we are both helping launch (thats a whole other post though :).
So he kept losing guitar picks, and he came across how to make your own and asked me to make them. Its so easy and fun to do! I modified how I made them a bit.

What you need:
  • Old credit/gift cards
  • Scissors
  • Xacto knife
  • pen
  • nail filer'
  • guitar pick
Trace your guitar pick onto the old credit/gift card with a pen, as many times on the one card that will fit. Then trace the outline with the xacto knife (this makes it easier to cut out.) Then cut around the outline, it should easily pop out. Finally, file the rough edges until smooth.

Please let me know if you or someone you know wants photos for a special occasion, event or just family stuff in the Phoenix area. While I start making a portfolio, everything is free of charge, just pay for prints you want.

home

So we've been home for a couple of hours, and only to find that our laptop battery is shot. It won't live unplugged for more than an hour. Worse, it is the computer I use to upload and edit picture on. Which means no San Diego pictures for maybe a week since thats how long it takes to deliver a new battery! I am so sad! My lovely husband is trying to get the Photoshop we've had for a while to work on our Mac I am using now...for some reason the program will not download! I am really hoping that it will work since Photoshop is an awesome program and using the Mac is much better for artsy purposes.

back to the trip:
It was nice to get away. We had a short visit in San Diego. We got to stay with Chris' Aunt and Uncle who live in a lovely home right outside the city. It was really nice visiting with them. Sunday we wanted to leave around 3 am, but we woke up around 6 am. Whoops! We got in town around noon and had lunch with Aunt Adrienne and Uncle Jerry, got settled in, and then headed off to the beach. Or so we thought! We must have drove around for over an hour looking for parking at Mission Beach. The roads were crowded and we kept getting turned around. So we decided to go to Tiajuana for some shopping. Well we were there for about 5 minutes, literally, before Chris said 'We need to go, I don't think this is safe'. So we headed to another beach that was much quieter and very nice. Then we decided to have dinner downtown, since my friend and Chris' relative recommended the same Italian restaurant. Well, again, we got lost. Very lost this time! It seemed so easy to get lost because you can see where you want to go, but parking is so hard to find that you drive so far out of the way you can't find your way back! Haha. Monday we went to the beach all day, it was so nice. Today we left around 9 am, we planned on going to the Zoo for a few hours before hitting the road- but we were really tired. I am so sun burnt too, being in the heat more would've been so painful! AND- we stopped for gas before going to the Zoo and locked our keys in the car. Go figure. So we just went home.
Oh traveling is such an adventure! Well back to work tomorrow...and pictures, soon.......??? (lets hope!)

mole...

This is my last post about this I promise....
so the finale was last night, not last week like I said in the post below.
It was very anticlimactic, we were right about Craig being the mole and Mark won.
No surprises for us, but it was fun to watch and be right the whole time!

San Diego, here we come!

So we are headed outta here! Sunday morning we are driving to the beach for a few days! yay yay. And to be honest, I can't remember if I have actually been to San Diego. I grew up in Sacramento and I know we visited many beaches, but where I don't know. I would call my mom and ask, but that lucky duck is in Hawaii right now. I know every trip to the beach since living here has been in the L.A. area- which we are SO not fans of.

thats all for now!

Middle Name Game!

  1. You have to post the rules before you give the facts.
  2. Players - You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life that corresponds with each letter of your middle name.
  3. At the end of your post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.

MICHELLE

M: Mother-wanna-be. What can I say I caught the baby bugs like 15 years ago and am still infected! bleh!

I: in love...awww.

C: Creative. Hey, I try.

H: Home-body. I could totally be at home all the time, maybe even for days on end and not know it- just kidding. That would make me a hermit, and that is one H I am not, or hope I'm not :)

E: Esthetician! My career! I love my job- I give facials all day and wax people, its the most fun job ever. Any skin ?'s just ask me!!!

L: Liddle (as in little, with two d's). Chris says I don't pronounce my t's very well- and he always makes fun of me when I say "liddle"

L: Loveable. A few years ago at my churchs women's retreat we had to give ourselves a new 'name', something we wanted to speak over ourselves and believe. I gave this as my name. I am still struggling with believing it, and still have to speak it over myself.

E: Epipen. I carry one in my purse, in case I go into anaphylactic shock from eating a nut (its happened before....).

Now I have to tag 8 people! 8! holy cow.

Krystle, Ashley, Kim, Logan, Tara, Lyndsey, Olivia, and last but not least, Rebecca, since we share the same middle name ♥
