the Mole

disclaimer: this post will not make sense to anyone who doesn't watch this show. I am not even sure anyone watches it except my household. I am just semi-obsessed with it, ok?

Remember a few months back me raving about The Mole?? Well, next week is the last episode (I think)! Since the premiere Chris and I have thought that Craig is the mole. And he is still on the show! Which means we could be right!
I think he is the Mole because he lays low and doesn't cause any suspicion. A lot of the challenges to make money are physical, and all the players feel sorry for Craig because he isn't in the best of condition to perform these tasks. Therefore, when he fails, no one holds it against him. Plus he is just so likeable it would be great 'shock factor'.
So this Monday night we will find out who is the mole, and who wins! (I hope Mark wins, I don't think anyone wants Nicole to win)
again, obsessed. sorry.

I haven't done much laundry since we found a scorpion in the last pile we washed.
I think its time.
I'll get on that.

Something Good prompt.

How do you enjoy hanging out with your husband?

Chris and I can do just about anything together and have fun. We genuinely enjoy each others company. We can go out on dates or on little getaways, but my favorite thing to do with him are much simpler. I love at night when we lay in bed and I read a book while he surfs the Internet on his iPhone, stopping to chat about little things. Or when we sit on the couch and laugh at a good TV show or enjoy a rented movie. I love when we carpool to work and he teases me by changing the radio station when a song comes on he knows I like.
I enjoy all the small moments with him :)

sweating the small stuff.

Please hear me out on this one. I was cleaning out my pictures the other day, when all the evidence of my photo-hating husband spilled out before me.

You see, sometimes he is a pleasant photo taker. Mainly when they are professionally taken, or when we were newly dating.

.

Now, although, he grimaces at the camera. He loathes it, and he takes it out on me.

Sigh. If only he loved being in front of the camera as much as I do. What a silly boy.

little projects.

Like I said earlier, lately I have been redecorating little areas around the house. It started with the stripes...and went from there ( or maybe it was earlier). Luckily for Chris our house is small so rearranging furniture isn't part of the redecorating, or as he calls it 'meddling' (who knows).

SO here are my Hobby Lobby finds. I fell in love with that chubby bird and I had to figure out how to put him up in the house...

I guess this works. Its our kitchen, if you are standing between the stove and island.

I am also helping my sister with her nursery. We will be painting stripes next week. This week I made her baby's name from, of course, Hobby Lobby letters we found on our trip last week. I am showing all of you in blogging land her letters before she even sees them! whoops. I will not show all of them though, that and the name can be a surprise.

She really liked how I made these letters a while back, so I kinda went from there.

Until next time, enjoy your fab homes.love, Shannon

laugh your pants off.

Now this video is not meant to make people laugh. Chris found it while looking up hymns online, and I about died laughing. Well I actually just peed my pants.

this is the link:

(I am not savvy enough to know how to put it on here.)

This lil old couple just love the Lord, and I know they are doing His work...but this totally brings back memories for me and Chris of churches we used to attend. That's why its funny.
Its a very long video, stop watching it about 30 seconds into the piano playing.

Enjoy~

hi.

I don't have much to post about. I am just sitting on the computer, wishing I could be reading my book, but it ran away. I only had like one more chapter to go in Atonement Child, but now I cannot find it. Maybe it is angry with me that I already started reading My Sisters Keeper when I wasn't even halfway through it.

More random thoughts:
I love HOBBY LOBBY.
I cannot stop decorating, redecorating, decorating...
I have self diagnosed me with IBS.
I am deliriously tired right now, but the laptop glare has me in a trance.

bookworm.

Lately I cannot read enough books! I get like this often, I have always loved to read. (To make me even more of a nerd, I am thoroughly looking forward to the library opening down the road, so I can ride my bike there. Might as well attach a basket to my handlebars).
When we were in Payson my friend Kareena lent me Oceans Apart, by Karen Kingsbury. I enjoyed her writing style, so I bought Even Now and Ever After, a 2-in-1 deal at Wal Mart. I haven't started it yet, but I hope to soon! She also was reading New Moon, the sequel to Twlight while we were up there. She got me interested, so I borrowed them from my lovely mother-in-law. They are a fun read, but I could tell they were high school books. I got a little annoyed with all the wordy, drawn out parts. It was fun to read them since all my work girls were into them; we must go see the movie together!! And just so you know, I am on "Team Jacob". You may hate me.
On Sunday Chris and I overslept. We woke up at 10am! That's when church starts! Whoops. So we met up with my dad and step mom, and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory at the Superstition Springs Mall. Well conveniently for me, not for Chris, Half Price Books is right there! I have been begging him to go there with me, but he thinks the place smells like pee. Anyways, we went. I got four books for $18! I bought 90 Minutes in Heaven (I really want to read 23 Minutes in Hell, though. They didn't have it. Does that make me a pessimist??). Ok its a good book, a very short, amazing story...but like only the first two chapters are about heaven!
I also got The Atonement Child, since I adore Francine Rivers. I loved her Mark Of the Lion Series, they are a must read! They totally got me obsessed with ancient Rome and the Gladiator era. Chris and I have been trying to find the movie Gladiator just because I wanted to learn more about this time period (yes from movie). We bought it on Sunday and watched it. I liked it, but it didn't compare to the action and drama in these books! Read them!!!
I also found Where the Heart Is (one of my fav movies by the way) and The Lovely Bones, two books I read sooo long ago, but wanted to add to my bookshelf. Plus, they were only $2!! Crazy deal there!
So this is my proof that I am a major nerd!

yummy cereal mix.

So for the past several months I have been bringing this cereal mix to work, and got everyone hooked. I made it because a while back the Dr told me I have to eat a lot more fiber since I have a lot of stomach issues. Its is super easy, just mix everything in a bag and its good to go!

What you need:

  • 4 cups Quaker Oatmeal Squares, Brown Sugar flavor (they also make cinnamon in a red box)
  • 4 cups Kashi Go Lean Crunch Cereal (Chris loves this cereal!)
  • 1 cup Craisins
  • 1 cup Almonds

I don't measure anything out, but for the batch I just made I did. (just for you bloggers :)

  • In large bowl, or ziploc bag mix together both cereals and add craisins.
  • If your almonds are whole like mine, toast them whole for about 5 minutes in a large skillet on med. heat. Transfer to cutting board and cut in half (they cut so much easier once toasted a little bit). They place back in the skillet and finish toasting about 5 minutes. (Next time, I am going to buy slivered almonds. I just have to use up that huge Costco bag first)

Here is my bag:

A lot of the girls at work omit the almonds and add Cracklin Oat bran or dried cherries or just about anything!

oh.my.word.

Just now my biggest nightmare came true. We found a scorpion in our house.

I was getting ready for work, Chris was getting changed to go do yard work. Then he yelled and threw his sport shorts across the room. There had been a scorpion on the elastic band of his shorts. AHHH!

This is so ironic. Just last week we were with friends and i had said I have never seen a live scorpion before- I even knocked on wood! And now, there was one living in our house, in a pile of laundry I had just sorted yesterday {cringe}.

Of course, I got a picture of the fella. We don't know what to do with him, he is currently living under a drinking glass.

Why does he have to be the same color as our carpet and tile?! I am forever freaked out!
