4&5 months

4months

5months

Georgia is 4 months old! Since her last update she: rolls everywhere, sleeps horribly, naps awesomely, refuses a bottle, giggles only for her brother, gets up on her knees, talks a ton, occasionally eats rice cereal, plays with toys, sleeps in her crib, tries to sit up. I think she is going to be a spunky little girl. She is quite vocal and studies people. She also already gets in her brothers stuff. I had to teach him to tell me when he wants her out of his space...she goes right to him and tries to take his stuff! Its so funny.

And this happened today:

He was so excited to go. He kept making sure I was leaving, he didn't want me there! I pick him up in a couple hours, I can't wait to see how it went!

3 months old

IMG_3221

Georgia is 3 months old!
And this is 3 weeks late! ha.

Oh my sweet Georgia girl. My honey girl. My golden girl. My Georgie Porgie. She is happy and content. She loves to be moving. She loves her brother, who loves her even more. She tries to suck her hands. She rolled tummy to back for daddy while mommy was gone. She blows raspberries and coos. She kicks her legs and sticks her tongue out if you do it first. She is a gassy little thing and can clear a room...sorry Georgia for telling everyone that.
She fights a bottle and a pacifier (which is no good for the times I have to shoot weddings). She is drooly and spits up a ton. She sleeps good at night and prefers to sleep on her belly. She doesn't cry much unless she is hungry or gets poked in the eye by her overly affectionate brother. She loves bath time and pees every time she gets in the water. She has yet to laugh but smiles all day long. Her eyes couldn't be any bluer. She loves her daddy, who is cautious with the wee little babies but now that she's a chunk he can't get enough.
She had her first hospital stay this month because of a high fever. She has already been to the zoo three times.  Stroller, car rides, and the ergo are her jam. She is in the nursery at church now and is always swinging away happily when we pick her up (good girl for not crying).
She is a joy. She is my baby. I will treasure every moment and first with her!

Everett is 3!

So, we are about 3 days into age 3. Its a whole lot of attitude. Earlier he yelled at me, "are you kidding me?!" Seriously.
We had a little family party. I didn't plan a theme, I wanted it to be super easy since just having Georgia. Usually Chris loves to invite a lot of people, but with just moving and feeling like I had no time to do anything for the party, we just had family. It was perfect for this year.
I just gathered some stuff from around the house to put out, and we bought balloons. I thought it looked pretty cute!

Georgia- 2 Months

2months

Georgia Rue turned two months old on Monday. This having two kids thing could be a whole post in itself, but I will share a few thoughts I've had in the past two months.
Its hard to give Everett and Georgia equal attention. They need it in different ways, like Everett wants to play and Georgia wants to nurse. I feel like I don't give Georgia all the coos and chats I was able to give Ev. She hangs in her swing or next to me when Everett needs my attention. I think I just feel guilty no matter what I do! Grace, give yourself grace Shannon.... ;)

anyway... Georgia is just the sweetest little thing. She is pretty serious most of the time. Still nursing a lot, and sleeping a lot. She wakes maybe twice in the night (thats all a blur by morning). Her hair is starting to fall out, but is a reddish brown color. Her eyes are still super blue. This month she got so big to me, she feels heavier and is wearing 0-3 month clothes. I find out her weight next week.
She loves to be moving, falls asleep in the car, swing, stroller, bouncer. Loves bath time and when her daddy talks to her. Still needs a swaddle to sleep too.

I don't want to forget:

  • Her little coos and grunts.
  • the way she latches onto my face when I kiss her cheeks!
  • how she'll let out a little squeal/laugh and it is heard across the house

Georgia's Nursery

We had a lot of fun doing this girly nursery. I knew I wanted gold, grays, white and a little pink.  We did the gold striped walls (inspired by the backside of a Christmas card we got!) pretty soon after finding out it was a girl. We used a mustard yellow base color followed by Martha Stewarts metallic gold paint from Home Depot. There are 64 tape lines. It took forever to tape. Maybe 3 days, because it was such a tiring process we needed a lot of breaks!

IMG_2944 (I should've straightened the crib skirt. its bugging me.) The tassel garlands were used at my baby shower. The crib skirt was Everetts, I sewed white ruffles onto it. IMG_2950

Georgia- One Month old

10days

IMG_9505

Georgia turned one month old on 3/21. Her first month was easier on me than I thought it would be, but hard on her in some ways. We had to stay an extra day at the hospital for jaundice, and then when we got home we found out it worsened and she had to be on the bili-blanket and get heel pricks for a week. Poor thing.
She reminds me of Everett in a lot of ways. I think they look a lot a like! She is more serious though. I know I had photos of Everett smiling in his sleep at this age, and she rarely does that. Her eyes focus really well and I talk to her all day long trying to get a smile but I have yet to get one!
She sleeps fine at night and a lot during the day. She breastfeeds like a pro, she had zero issues with that (I didn't either! yay). We did supplement for the jaundice, so she takes a bottle as well. I am thankful for that! I do have sessions and weddings I am shooting soon so she will need to take one.
Everett just adores her. He constantly talks to her and is doting on her. He asks all the time when she can play!
She weighed 7lbs 15oz at her one month appointment. Still in newborn clothes. She is my little peanut.

I don't want to forget:
  • How strong this little girl is! Always holding her neck up to look around.
  • How blue her eyes are already! They are so light! I hope they stay!
  • what a noisy little nose breather she is
  • How she immediately falls asleep in the car, only after screaming from being put in her seat

The Age 2.5, & 28 Weeks Pregnant

IMG_2769 Everett is 2.5. So crazy. This age is so so fun. He is so smart and funny, it blows my mind. He talks so much I can barely keep up.
He loves Santa Clause, Mickey Mouse, Daniel Tiger, puzzles, blocks, playing Dr (one time he put the stethoscope to my baby belly and said "whomp whomp whomp" like a heartbeat, like seriously so cute), chocolate milk, whole apples, bike rides, the zoo, his friends Ava and Ryan, his daddy, the iPad, and he loves me of course :) He is so into Christmas this year it is wonderful to see it through his eyes. I feel slightly sad that he will no longer be the center of our world come the spring, but I am excited to see him as a big brother.

IMG_2557

I am feeling very pregnant. This baby moves a ton! We go back for an ultrasound on the 23rd to check on a couple things, and I'll make sure to ask to see the gender again…ha. We haven't done a thing to prepare for this baby, minus buying clothes here and there. We had the nursery together and a diaper stockpile for Everett when I was around this far along, poor second baby! No names either, looks like the same thing will happen that did with Ev, going in with two names and deciding when we see her. There is something about a surprise name that I love! But seriously, we don't talk about it. I do have guilt that I haven't recorded much about this baby on here. This pregnancy is super similar to Everett, but also so different. Its not consuming me and my mind. Life is so busy right now with a toddler and a busy photography business. We are blessed for sure, but I still feel sad that this little girl is getting forgotten about a bit.

What happened in 4months?

I cannot believe it has been 4 months since I posted anything here. What on earth.
When google reader went out, I stopped reading all blogs. I used to read them on my phone every morning, but then the app was deleted and I forgot about blogging. I also deleted flickr from my phone, and twitter, and vine...you know, just trying to get rid of all that extra junk I was doing. Time wasters (well flickr just took up too much memory).
ANYWAY, the point being, when I stopped reading other blogs, I stopped caring about mine. And that made me think I was doing it just because other people were, or because I wanted to impress others. That is not who I want to be. I won't be posting here regularly, but I do want to update my few readers on several life changes that happened.
Since June, we:

Sold our house. It went on the market in June, and we sold it in July and moved out July 31st. We were living with our gracious family for 8 weeks while the new home was being built. We just moved into our new home a week ago (this pic is old, obviously). It is only a few miles away from where we were. We love the new location so much. It feels perfect here!

IMG_6877

Found out we were expecting #2! We found out in July we were pregnant. We had been trying to conceive since January and had a few bumps in the road. We were thrilled but cautious to share the news. I am now 18 weeks along. I have been feeling so great lately. During the first move (packing our old house up), I was so so sick. Just super nauseous and exhausted. Thankfully it didnt last too long!

Also, we found out its a girl!!

DIY high waisted swimsuit

Untitled

This is by no means a tutorial- I am an amateur seamstress at best. I can do a few straight lines and thats pretty much it.

I have been wanting a high waisted swimsuit for a while now. I was having trouble finding one that would cover the belly button. I usually wear one pieces because I loathe my belly button so much. I always have- I even pierced it at 16 in hopes that that frowny looking thing would look cuter but NO. Now after pregnancy it is stretched out and scarred from my piercing.
Alas.

The suit.

Untitled

Untitled

I bought this suit because it is SO CUTE. Ugh I love it so much. It was hard to cut it, trust me.
I got the suit here and when it arrived I was so bummed because the cups were gapping open. I am super flat chested so there was really no fixing that. I did remove the padding to see if I could replace it (which is why in the before the left side is so sad looking) but no luck there.

Untitled

So I cut the top portion off, double folded it and sewed a straight line. Then cut off the extra fabric.
I also had to take the sides in about an inch on each side because they were loose.

Untitled

There you have it. Nothing too crazy or hard to do. I paired it with a top from Target.

Dining Room & My shutter!

Our dining room is open to the rest of the house, and while at first we didnt see a need for a formal dining room we now love it. Of course, its far from formal! We redid the dining set and I am so in love with it. The shutter was given to me by our neighbor- he is actually pretty grumpy and recently moved but this shutter will always remind me of him. Awesome but not awesome. The initials I have been wanting to do for so long. The W is from our wedding, still holding strong after 6 years and several paint jobs. And it looks like we can squeeze one more initial there next to the E? Just one more is all we want! Hopefully soon!
