My hubby the Dancer

My husband sure likes to tear up the dance floor. He has been known to do this at many of weddings. Its too bad we didn't have dancing at our own!!
Here he is, dancing the electric slide.

Photobucket

I stay out of this one. I never caught on to the moves.

Photobucket

"I'll teach you, teach you, teach you, I'll teach you the electric slide"
That'll be in your head all day. You're welcome.
Yep, thats the DJ he is dancing with. Poor guy was up there doing it alone.

I had to steal my husband back. All the older women (dare I say "cougars"??) were stealing him away to dance.
That is MY MAN thank you very much.

TIME

How is it that Glee premiered over a year ago and that seems like yesterday,

but things like cruising to the Bahamas and meeting some of our now best friends seem like forever ago?
Time is so strange. Plays games with me.

Blessed

God is working. Whether we know it, or feel like it, He is. If we doubt it, we must trust He is behind the scenes, rooting for us. He is for us, not against us (Romans 8:31).

I have testimony to this. A couple months ago my job at the salon was going down the drain. I wasn't making money like I had been (its a commission job) and the management there was getting very unstable. I had an opportunity to leave the industry and take an hourly job at a surgery center. I was afraid, uncertain, and I was praying about it. I took the hourly job. I was heartbroken at the idea that I would not currently be an 'esthetician', but times are tough and I knew I wouldn't have another opportunity.
I regretted it at first. I wanted to return to the salon. I missed everyone and I had clients who were NOT happy that I was no longer practicing.

Two weeks ago the salon locked its doors and closed for business.

Praise God that I was not out of work unexpectedly and that I 'moved' when He urged me to.
I know this may seem like a 'small' praise report, but I will give praise where it is needed!
God is good!
I hope in the hard times to come I remember this and continue to praise Him before prayer gets answered. He is always working for us.

San Diego

We had a little road trip last week to San Diego and Irvine, CA.
We did not go on the best circumstances as Chris' sweet dear Aunt Adrienne had just past away. Her memorial was really beautiful and special. Although it was sad and super fast we still managed to have a little fun!
It was a great time seeing family and bonding with my in-laws. I really love them all!

Here are some photos of the family and enjoying beach time!

3 Years

Today we celebrate 3 years of marriage.

Photobucket

WOW, I can't believe its been 3 years.
Some days it feels longer, some days it feels shorter.
Most days it feels perfect.
Photobucket

I can honestly say I love him more today than I did the day we wed.
So cliche, but very true.
Photobucket

Marriage thus far has been hard, rewarding, bliss, challenging, fun, an adventure, romantic, grounding, comfortable...
Photobucket

...and I can't wait to see what the rest of our lives hold!

Wish list

In the new house we have a formal dining room. I have no clue what to do in there. I went to Pier 1 yesterday and drooled over some of their adorable furniture...I would love to do this table with a few mismatched chairs (not all of these...maybe 2 of the solid wood ones and 2 fabric)

Of course we are not budgeted for new furniture. And I am pretty sure we wont be buying any new furniture. But for now I will dream!

Procrastination

WOW. This weekend has been very unproductive on my end.
We had a garage sale yesterday that was a fluke.
I have a trillion things to do and I am avoiding doing anything.

Hence, the new blog header. I did that Friday night while avoiding preparing for the garage sale.

Right now I am going to blog so I can avoid editing photos. I really love editing, but going through 1,800 photos from a wedding is a lot of work. I really need to complete it today since I have 3 shoots in the next 3 days and will have to move on to editing those.
Whatever I will blog instead for now.

This is my new computer area. Sitting on the floor. I finally put the monitor onto a mini shelf thing from Ikea just so I wouldn't have to keep looking down onto the screen.
Its super ghetto and my back hurts but hey, we are moving. I will have a cool office there :)

Photobucket

Speaking of, heres a new photo of the house.

Photobucket

The other day I had to return my dish network. We are saving $$$...
I look really happy in this picture but I really AM NOT.

Photobucket

My niece came over yesterday and this is how she was dressed (she picked it out herself). Underwear is an accessory now.

Ok, back to work.

story on moving.

We are getting lots of things wrapped up around here to move! I feel like its a little early to be doing, since its not for another month, but oh well. I have a husband who likes to be prepared.
We found renters! A nice, very young expectant couple will be renting it. Everything up til now has been approved, so it looks like we are on track. Closing just makes me nervous :)

anywho, the story.

A few months ago we started looking at homes on the weekends. We would venture to model homes to get a feel of what we want in a home and like in a floor plan. Every Saturday we would do this. We fell in love with many houses, but either the price or location was something we didn't love. Luckily my husband and I have the exact same taste in houses, which makes things much easier.
Each time after looking, my husband would say "Eh, lets not move". I was getting pretty fed up with him (Sorry Chris. I was). He was the one initiating the move, then I would get my hopes up, just to be let down. Over and over.
One day, we got pretty close to making an offer(It was a spec home in the neighborhood we will be moving to). Something didn't 'feel right', so we didn't. That week Chris said, "Lets not move. Lets have a baby." WHAT!! DID HE REALLY JUST SAY THOSE 4 WORDS??
Well yes, he did. And want to know what went through my head? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The one thing I had been waiting on, and I didn't care. All I could think was, I would rather move. I know, I couldn't believe myself either.
I didn't tell Chris this right away. I thought about it, and we even 'started trying' (at the wrong time of the month too, I might add...so no, there's no chance of pregnancy) The whole time I kept thinking about making one room a nursery, where I would put a swing, a bassinet, etc, etc, and I didn't want it. Yes, of course I can't WAIT to be a mom, I just couldn't picture myself doing it in our current home for some odd reason.
Then I went to Las Vegas. Sunday I was out by the pool, and Chris called. He said he went to look at that spec again but it sold. So he was looking at a different one that was a different floor plan, bigger, and only a little bit more money. He said he loved it so much he wanted his dad to see it. He kept calling saying how much he loved it, going on and on.....then, I called him and asked what the status was on the house. He says "Eh, I dont want to move".
I freaked out. My hopes up all again, I want to move so badly....grrr.....
I have to say I sent him some text messages that told him how I felt in the not-so-kindest light.
He laughs and says he made an offer! So my husband and I are buying a home I had never even seen! Crazy huh?

So the plan as of now is to move and maybe wait another year for a baby. We think its a great time to invest in another home, and if we start having babies we will be stuck in this house for a long time. We figure babies can happen at any time, and we will be so happy when they do, but buying a house can't happen anytime. And if we CAN plan it like we want, why not? (God willing). So now we will be living closer to work and have a bigger home to grow into. I never wanted to be 'that couple' who is married for 4-5+++ years with no kids....but oh well. We are coming up on 3 years next week and feel like we are in the spot we are supposed to be. Great things are happening, and we are setting a good foundation for when the babies do come along!

craigslist.

I have never posted anything on craigslist.org until this past week. I currently hate it with every fiber of my being. I will tell you why:

I am scared of strangers, as everyone should be. This includes talking to them on the phone and ESPECIALLY having them come into my house to view items. I cannot help but assume that everyone is a serial killer.

I am quick to respond via e-mail. Its on my cell-phone, and I can send a quick reply. It irks me that others don't do the same. And what really irks me is that some people are persistent on talking over the phone, but I figured out this is just so they can haggle. (I hate talking on the phone, p.s)

I get offended when people offer $25 for something I am selling for $50 (for a $200 sofa, none the less). I think its rude. And I get my feelings hurt when people don't buy my items.

People are flaky. They stand you up. I get all nervous and sweaty just thinking about having to interact with someone I don't know.

Exchanging goods for money in a random parking lot makes me feel dirty.

I am pretty sure the moral of this story is that I am NOT a salesperson and that I have Social Anxiety Disorder.

*dreams*

We are pursing the dream of owning a larger home in the Chandler/Gilbert area. We have been contemplating buying a second home for months now, and we finally acting on it! We will have to live on a tighter budget, and put the baby dream on hold for a bit ( I am OK with it! More on that later) but we couldnt be more excited at the thought that we may be calling this house 'home' in a few weeks!

Please keep us in our prayers as we pursue renters for our current home and as we close on this one. If everything goes well we should move in in one month! Thank you :)

what's on my mind this week.

I am having some self-esteem issues. I hate feeling like I have to look a certain way. Not really when it comes to clothing or style, but with my body. I feel so gross and fat lately. I shouldn't, I know I shouldn't, but I do. I could make wiser eating decisions and I know I am at a healthy weight but I just don't feel good about it.
I know a lot of it is coming from the fact that next weekend I will be going to Vegas with some girlfriends. They are some really great close friends from the salon I just left. We had booked a trip to go to the annual Hair and Beauty Show a few months back, and I am still going even though I don't work there anymore (I paid already).
Anyway, all the girls are so beautiful and fit. I feel like I am going to be the ugly duckling in the group. They have been working on their figures for this trip for MONTHS now, and of course I have not (I am not single and going there to impress anyone). So I am just dreading going there and having to get in my swimsuit. I love my friends so dearly I just hate being self-conscious.
And why is it the worse I feel about my body the worse I eat?? I should be cracking down these few days before I go, but NO I can't stop eating junk. It's out of control. I must be an emotional eater. LOVELY.
