Weekend Reflections

Let me just say this computer is moving VERY slow....I really feel like I am using AOL right now. 

Our weekend is ending, boo. We had a lot of fun...lets see:

• Friday I worked all day and was out in the Phoenix area so I made a quick stop into Last Chance since I haven't been there in years. I was so excited to find a pair of Vigoss jeans in my size for $9.99!! What a steal, right? Well I get them home to try them on (no I didn't want to wait in the enormous fitting room line), and they don't have a front button and the zipper doesn't work. If anyone has any tips on fixing that, let me know.
• We had a great dinner that night we some friends. We ate at Brio at the San Tan Mall and had the strangest girl for a waiter EVER! Our friend ordered a lobster dish and she said "I love Crustaceans!" She was creepy weird. And she hovered. We had a good night though!
• Saturday Chris had won tickets to the Diamond Backs game in the Wells Fargo suite. Fun time eating free food and having a great view of the game. 
• Today we went to church, we are really enjoying where we are going. Then my dad took us to lunch which is always a nice treat. We ate outside at Red Robin and it was a beautiful day.  Then I had sushi for dinner with my girlfriends :)
• Just now we got back from a bike ride, and I am about to die. WOW I am not in shape.

Don't judge me for writing about this.....BUT

every Tuesday on American Idol I wait for the judges to say:

"Adam, quit screaming,"

"Adam, quit sticking your tongue out and shaking it,"

"Adam, not everyone likes your flamboyant music."

Do they ever say rude things to him like they do the other contestants? No. He is like the queen of AI this season, and I don't like it.

Guess what! We bought these t-shirts tonight....(well ones like it)

....to wear on our anniversary cruise! We are so excited! Chris loves SNL....thats where this saying is from, although if you look it up make sure it is edited or whatever, and to me its not the funniest......ok enough rambling. It will be funny to wear these on the ship though ;)

Happy Easter!

What a great holiday we get to celebrate. The miracle of Easter and the price Jesus paid for us is so amazing to me. We had a great service today at church. In case you didn't know, we have been trying out new churches for a few months now. It is really overwhelming and it is easy to feel lost in the midst of it all, but we know God is faithful and has a home for us. Please keep that in your prayers. 

Ok my favorite candy of the whole year!!!!

 I love my mom for still buying us Easter treats. And you know I will be hitting the stores this week for candy clearance! Then I guess I will need to hit the gym :)


I wanted to show off my newest headband for Em- I made her 4 new ones and I think she will be sporting a new one at her dedication next week, so I will post that one too.

Its Friday...!

Fridays just aren't the same since we have been married. To us, its just another weeknight, especially since we always work Saturdays. It used to be such a 'date night',  now we often forget its a Friday night and that most people are out having a good time! Haha we even find ourselves going to be at 9pm on Fridays....oh the joy of married life! I wouldn't change it for anything!

I have had such a blogging block lately, not much going on in this household. We both have been working so much. It is really needed though. We are just grateful to be able to work!

Shannons Randomness.

This week our dog Samson graduated from PetsMart training. It was pretty cool I guess.

I got to spend some good times with my mother-in-law and her dog Minnie Sue since they were apart of the class too.

At the end of the series they give you a bumper magnet that I am sure you have all seen on peoples cars. Chris sneakily put it on mine and I drove around with it for a whole day before I realized.

Simplify

I had a sign that said Simplify hanging in my office, but sadly it got paint spilled on it during the 'makeover'.

I made a new one a couple days ago. I cut the letters out of fabric, hand stitched it on, then stretched it over a canvas. 


Heres it close up since I hate when fabric photographs like the above photo.

Happy Birthday Chris!

Today my wonderful husband of almost 2 years and best friend for almost 4 turned 23!

I love him and hope each year gets better and better!

Today I was a little stressed. About really dumb things. 

this song came into my head:

" All I really need is a song in my heart,

Food in my belly,

and love in my family"

God works in mysterious ways. Who knew this little song I have known since I was about 4 would calm me so much. 

Raffi, anyone??

I destroyed this cassette listening to it. Pretty much.

Today, I am:

• still dealing with this headache for the 3rd night in a row. (Its only at night, so strange)
• avoiding doing laundry. I do not mind that I ran out of soap :)
• going to go to PetsMart dog training for Samson. I still can't tell if he is really good at training, or just lazy.
• trying to get rid of some zits on my lovely face.
• REALLY tired.
• preparing myself for a long work weekend.
• going to Target to try and find some good deals on clothes. I still haven't gotten much since my last 'steals and deals' post
• realizing I really only eat two things I cook. By choice. I do know how to cook. 
• really wanting a pedicure :)
• praying for some dreams to come true...
• hoping for change...
• anxious about the future.

Trip to the Farm

My sister invited me to join her to go to Arizona Agriculture Day at Superstition Farms. It was a nice day and a fun, cheap activity to do!

Lunch was only $1! The line took forever but it was worth it. It was catered restaurant food. I was impressed. I took a picture.

The new office. Its kinda girly, I hope this doesn't steer Chris away. Its not finished, I have a few more projects to get done, but you get where I am going.

I wanted a distressed look to everything. I painted the desk and sanded the edges and did that with the frames as well.

I hardly spent any money! The beige paint we already had. The green I got from the OOPS section at Wal Mart for $4. I bought a small can of white paint for the desk and frames for $5. I already had the paper for the mattes and covering the magnet board. I did buy 3 new frames for $3 a piece! Not bad!

Shrek!

Yesterday my mom went to the ER for chest pain. Everything is okay now. 

My  sister was waiting for her husband to come get the kids so we could be with our mom. I joined her in the car, and was the annoying Aunt taking pictures and trying to get Aidan to say everything he knows. 

His latest funny saying is Shrek. You have to watch the video to see why. I die laughing. He was being a ham for me...and just learned to pop his jaw so thats what you see him doing most of the time. 

Sorry Courtney for exploiting your child....I just cant resist.

Ugh PMS

What a case I am this week!  I know there are some people out there that think PMS is a myth- but I know it isn't. Today I was thinking about what we could have for dinner. My first thought was flatbread pizza- mine with sauteed spinach, tomatoes and greek olives with a pesto spread. YUM right? Usually I would think so. Not so much today. When its 'that time' I crave full fat foods. Right now I want fettucini alfredo. That'll be dinner. 

I also ran to the store to buy our treat for American Idol tonight. I got carmel corn with peanuts and Cadbury cream eggs (my all time favorite). I also got Chris a treat :). While I was putting the groceries away, I noticed there was one of the eggs rolling around on the bottom of the cart. I tried to find the other one, but no luck...it must have rolled out. Then I found myself driving around the parking lot looking for this 50 cent egg! Wow.  I am a PMS nut.

My lil nephew Aidan had to get a buzz cut today. I saw this picture and had to post it because he looks so stinkin cute! Also, he looks a lot like his army dad who, by the way, has been home for a few weeks now from Iraq. For good! I am glad my sister and her kids are all whole again and so so happy! What an answer to prayer!

Tasty Treat

One of our favorite things to do on Tuesday night have a good dinner prepared by yours truly, then go pick up Bahama Bucks (got to support local business since the Dippin Dots right next door closed), and watch American Idol. Its like our once a week treat (the Bahama Bucks. Not the eating home cooked meals and watching TV. We do that all the time). Although tonight, we were very disappointed that there was no American Idol. Thanks Obama. Really, what could have been more important than AI??? Now I am all thrown off for the week.

We look semi thrilled. In case you don't know, Bahama Bucks is the most amazing shaved ice EVER. My favorite is coconut with creme and Chris is having a little fruit smoothie here. 

Rocky Point

This past weekend we went to Rocky Point with some friends. It was us, a couple that Chris has worked with forever and a couple that they know. It was so fun being with friends and meeting new people!

Chris playing on the beach with Trenton, Staceys 4 year old son. That is the resort behind them. I loved where we stayed and the whole condo thing, being able to all stay in the same place with a kitchen and a living room. We had fun staying up and playing boys vs girls charades. It was so crazy because Chris and I kept writing the same words to act out! We are just bffs.

Chris took Stacey out on a ride and turned too soon. They fell off, and sadly, Chris lost his wedding ring! It was sad but at least they are safe. (he didn't know it was lost until 20 minutes afterward....thats why he is still laughing here)
People try to sell you everything in Mexico! It gets old way fast. On the beach some guy tried selling us tickets to a sunset dinner cruise, well he convinced someone in the group...and it was no bueno. The view was pretty and we saw TONS of dolphins, but there was no food! What a liar that man was!

New closet!

We finally got around to fixing our closet (well, hiring someone else to). There was only one clothing rod. It was not much of a master closet.

Whoo hoo now I don't have to use up all 3 closets in the house! Now we just have to hang everything back up....yuck.

My weekend

Yesterday I had a lot of fun taking pictures for a great friend of mine. Delilah had fun too! Brekyn just loved her! It was so adorable! Oh, by the way, this little puppy is 4 months old...and still under 2 lbs! I never imagined having a dog this small. I want her to keep growing!

I am in the process of redecorating the office, since I spend so much time in here. I am quite a weakling and can't move all the furniture out of the way to paint, so I have been waiting on Chris...who just woke up sick. So this project that I have started probably will have to wait. 

Here it is before. Its messy. Forgive me. 
Right now it is halfway covered with beige paint. I want to do two green walls. I really want a new desk, but I think I will just spray paint this one. Stay tuned! (although it may be a long while!)
